We seek to share with our sisters the beauty of God’s plan for love, marriage and sex. At the Sisterhood we believe, teach and counsel that sex was created for the union of man and wife in the sacrament of Holy Matrimony. We have chosen as our patron saint Holy Mary, the Mother of God. We strive to be like our Blessed Mother who in all things was faithful and obedient to Jesus Christ.
We do not seek to change, modify or modernize Church teaching. Rather, we seek to illuminate what the Church has taught for the past 2,000 years.
Living a chaste life can be challenging at times. But we also know that living a chaste life brings great joy and happiness. We are called to promote the virtue of chastity to our sisters by educating and counseling them in accord with Catholic Teaching.
By way of weekly video viewings, webinars and consultations with a certified Natural Family Planning (NFP) teacher, we help women tune into their natural cycles and the wonderful plans God has created for their sexuality. We work around the program participants’ schedules. There is no set time or place where this program has to be conducted – it is all done on the internet and by telephone.
There are no membership fees or dues. There is no charge for any of our services and we do not sell anything. Neither do we accept advertising or release the names, phone numbers or email addresses of our members. The Sisterhood will work to provide special services with Catholic organizations and professionals for our members. This will enable that our members have the best access possible to Catholic resources.
We invite and encourage women of all ages to join us. We are especially concerned with the education and counseling of young women. Young women are the future of the Catholic Church and so it is vital that they be given the tools to become advocates for Jesus Christ. Women more mature in their faith; can help younger women simply by introducing them to our Sisterhood.
We note that medical associations such as the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG) and the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP), promote long acting reversible contraceptives (LARC’s) for all women, including adolescents. Organizations such as ACOG and AAP help establish and promote the free sex culture that the Church and the Sisterhood reject. We believe these contraceptives are unhealthy, both spiritually and physically.
Understanding Church teaching on pre- and extra-marital sex, pornography, contraception, abortion and most forms of assisted reproductive technologies requires study. Acceptance of Church teaching and living a life in harmony with that teaching requires Grace which will be achieved with prayer and the frequenting of the Sacraments.
What we ask of our sisters is that they participate by volunteering their time and/or referring us to “students”. We aim to have self-sustaining Sisterhood groups across the nation led by volunteer teachers.
We need to design strong programs for our sisters in Christ who are surrounded by a culture that seeks to destroy true femininity. We strive to help form women whose identity is firmly rooted in Christ.
